The positive side of Revolutionary Guards’ Soft Power
Posted on April 13th, 2009 in Uncategorized |
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ (RG) announced last month it has launched a crackdown on several groups who had set up anti-Islamic and pornographic Internet sites. RG also launched a web site,Gerdab, where the news and photos of arrested peopel got published.
Reactions: Most bloggers say such action aims to make cyber dissidents scared of their activities and RG wants to create a negative image of blogging in the mind of Iranians. Many also mention that arrested people did not have access to lawyer and got mistreated or tortured. Some also call RG campaign just a tip of iceberg to repress political bloggers in the name of saving morality in Iranian society.
The positive side: I say Iranian bloggers are right to worry about what will be the next step of RG. They are right to ask that human rights of arrested people should not be violated.
BUT ONE THING IS TO REMEMBER SOME OF THESE SITES WERE NOT ORDINARY PORN SITE. NAKED GIRLS AND WOMEN HAD BEEN FILMED WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND THEIR FILMS WERE THERE TO BE WATCHED. MANY OF THEM WERE FILMED IN BED ,DOING SEX. WHO CAN STOP THESE SITES? IRANIANS IN IRAN HAS NO ACCESS TO INTERNATIONAL LAWYERS. HUNDEREDS OF PEOPLE WERE CONDEMNED TO BE HUMILATED ONLINE. RG SAVE D MANY PEOPLE’S HONOUR.

Cool! really cool! Not only that a post you read on one breath - so grasps and it is interesting, but also besides also in a head something remains. Usually posts you forget, as soon as you leave an Internet, and here is over what to think. I continue to reflect over this information.
