Guardian replaces news by rumors

Posted on July 19th, 2009 in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

It seems that Guardian on Iran is not a trustworthy source. Again and again stupid rumors becomes news.
Here is : Thirty-six army officers arrested in Iran over protest plan

Robert Tait’s reference here is Peyknet…even Iranian persian sites such as bbc, farda do not use it as a source…Peiknet is based thousands kilomerters away from Iran….probabaly it has no hired staff….
The best part is the following:
‘The Iranian army has arrested 36 officers who planned to attend last week’s Friday prayer sermon by former president Hashemi Rafsanjani in their military uniforms as an act of political defiance, according to Farsi-language websites.”
English reader says great several Farsi sites…but which sites…if all are like Peyknet, none is a source….

Yesterday a few Iranian journalists and I talking about English sources and all of us agree Guardian ahs become the worst replacing news by rumors.

My two Candidates

Posted on June 11th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

In Iranian presidential election I have two options: Mehdi Karoubi, a cleric who talks about human rights issues. A great A for him.

Another one is Mohsen Rezaie , former leader of revolutionary guards, who is the most prepared guy to become president.

If I compare three other candidates to M.Rezaie they do not even deserve to become Minister of flowers.

Rezaie showed in his debates that he really studied Iran’s problems and have some structured soultions.

If Mousavi gets elected it means you elect Rafsanjani or at least 50 percent of him. The reason is simple: he paid Mousavi’s election’s bills.

Blogging For a Cause:Global Voices Advocacy

Posted on June 5th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

My favorite choice for Blogging for a cause is Global Voices Advocacy. Why? Because it covers filtering, jailed cyber activists and try even train bloggers to strike back. As an Iranian blogger and journalist I know how much such a project has been helpful.

This blog post is part of Zemanta’s Blogging For a Cause campaign to raise awareness and funds for worthy causes that bloggers care about.

TV is Still the King

Mousavi vs Ahmadinejad debate in Iranian TV on Wendesday where they accuse each other to whatever you can think shows TV functions beyond internet, blogs and so on.

TV is like jet fighter while blogs and internet are like rifles.

Ahmadinejad name and shame Rafsanjani, former president and one of Iranian revolution master minds and sveral other top guys. He accused them of corruption. Well everybody knows it but saying it in national TV is another story.

Mousavi also calls Ahmadinejad a superstitious and….

I think both of them right….who cares anyway….there will be no investigation…

Everything Fareed Zakaria Knows about Iran is wrong, or…

Posted on May 25th, 2009 in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

I just read in News Week an article written by Zakaria on Iran:

“Everything you know about Iran is wrong, or at least more complicated than you think. Take the bomb. The regime wants to be a nuclear power but could well be happy with a peaceful civilian program (which could make the challenge it poses more complex). What’s the evidence? Well, over the last five years, senior Iranian officials at every level have repeatedly asserted that they do not intend to build nuclear weapons. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has quoted the regime’s founding father, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who asserted that such weapons were “un-Islamic.” The country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a fatwa in 2004 describing the use of nuclear weapons as immoral. In a subsequent sermon, he declared that “developing, producing or stockpiling nuclear weapons is forbidden under Islam.” Last year Khamenei reiterated all these points after meeting with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei. Now, of course, they could all be lying. But it seems odd for a regime that derives its legitimacy from its fidelity to Islam to declare constantly that these weapons are un-Islamic if it intends to develop them. It would be far shrewder to stop reminding people of Khomeini’s statements and stop issuing new fatwas against nukes.’

Dear Fareed please read more on Iran and learn about Islamic Republic policy. Iranian Leader in 1978-79 promised freedom of speech even for Marxists and one year later thousands of them got executed. It is just one case.

Saying this it does not mean I am against that Iran posses nuclear technology and even A Bomb…but Zakrais’s lack of knowledge on Iran really makes me sick.

IS RSF STUPID?

Posted on May 24th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Reporters without Borders has been a great organization but yesterday really surprised me by saying: “Cannes Festival jury sends message to Iranian authorities by awarding prize to film co-scripted by Roxana Saberi.”

In other words it was just a political award and has nothing to do with art. Cannes Festival is , as Iranian authorities, claim is a political instrument…

Does RSF know that — the U.S. continues to imprison Ibrahim Jassam, a freelance photographer for Reuters, even though an Iraqi court last December — more than five months ago — found that there was no evidence to justify his detention and ordered him released.

May be he is not as sexy as Roxana or being arrested by American or Iranian is the real issue.

Mousavi’s supporters confused him with a super hero

Posted on May 21st, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

I have great respect for Mir Hussein Mousavi’s way of life BUT when I read how his campaigners lie about his years as Prime Minister and try to present him as a candidate with divine protection. Well one of campaigns (Mirhussein.com) claims the best Iranian movies and TV series were created during 80s when Mir Hussein was Prime Minister. First I do Not know based on which fact or report or analysis they do such a stupid claim. Then a simple googling Iranian movies will prove the opposite of it. Finally I do not get why they want to present a PERFECT MAN with a PERFECT PAST. We do Not need super heros…specially the ones mad by lies. There are much more of these stupid claims and lies…I never saw such a thing regarding a candiate except Ahmdinejad’s new campaign.

Ghobadi vs Saberi’s family

Posted on May 16th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

“There was clear friction between Ghobadi and Saberi’s parents, who kept themselves several feet apart from the director. At one point, Ghobadi approached Saberi’s visibly shaken mother, but she pushed him away, motioning him away with her hands. After Ghobadi’s letter, Reza Saberi announced that he could not confirm Ghobadi as his daughter’s fiancee. One source close to the family said they perceive him as taking advantage of her recent newsworthiness to publicize his film, and wonder why he was not speaking out for her before her case attracted such international attention. Ghobadi said he had been ordered to keep silent by sources he could not reveal, and finally broke his silence when he “could no longer hold it.”

From Roxana Saberi to Ibrahim Jassam

Posted on May 12th, 2009 in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

“Right now — as the American press corps celebrates itself for demanding Saberi’s release in Iran — the U.S. continues to imprison Ibrahim Jassam, a freelance photographer for Reuters, even though an Iraqi court last December — more than five months ago — found that there was no evidence to justify his detention and ordered him released.  The U.S. — over the objections of the CPJ, Reporters Without Borders and Reuters — refused to recognize the validity of that Iraqi court order and announced it would continue to keep him imprisoned.” Read More in Salon.com
